Rules of Play & Safety Guidelines.
For all members and guests using Tempo Golf Club, 57-59 Lonsdale Road, London NW6 6RA
Updated 14 October 2026
Please read these Rules of Play & Safety Guidelines before you play. They are in place to help keep you, other guests and our team safe. Everyone using the simulator bays must follow these rules and any reasonable safety instructions given by Tempo staff. We want you to have the best possible time here, and these rules make that possible for everyone.
Swing Safely: Only the player taking their turn may enter the green astroturf hitting area. Everyone else must remain off the green astroturf, safely behind the player and clear of the club. A coach may enter the hitting area to provide instruction or assistance only when no swing is taking place and the player’s club is stationary. Stop immediately if anyone enters the hitting area unexpectedly. Staff may limit numbers or require people to move if the area becomes crowded or unsafe. Swinging golf clubs outside the green astroturf hitting area is not permitted.
Bay Capacity: A maximum of four players may be allocated to a simulator bay. Only the player taking their turn may enter the astroturf hitting area. Other players must remain behind the player and clear of the swing zone. Additional guests may remain only in the seat, stool or standing area allocated to them. They must not enter the green astroturf hitting area, obstruct walkways or encroach into neighbouring bays. Tempo Golf Ltd staff may restrict numbers or require people to move where necessary for safety.
Golf Clubs & Equipment: Use golf clubs and simulator equipment responsibly and only for their intended purpose. Do not throw or deliberately misuse clubs or balls. Do not touch or interfere with cables, sensors or simulator technology, or deliberately damage screens or other equipment. Do not go behind or under the bay screen at any time. You may be responsible for the cost of damage caused by deliberate or negligent misuse, in accordance with Tempo Golf Ltd’s terms and conditions.
Appropriate Footwear: Suitable footwear must be worn when playing golf. Open-toed shoes and high heels are not permitted for golf play in the simulator bays.
Food & Drink: Keep food and drinks away from simulator screens, electrical equipment and other areas where they could create a hazard. Use the tables, surfaces and drinks holders provided.
Do Not Play if Intoxicated: Guests who appear intoxicated or otherwise impaired to the extent that they may present a safety risk will not be permitted to use the simulator bays. Tempo reserves the right to stop play or refuse access where a person’s condition or behaviour presents a risk to themselves or others.
Respect Staff: Treat our team and other players with respect. Aggressive, abusive, discriminatory or intimidating behaviour, or sexual harassment of any kind, will not be tolerated. We may stop play, ask you to leave, or suspend or end a membership. Members are responsible for their guests.
Behaviour: Members and guests must behave responsibly and with consideration for other people. Running, horseplay, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or otherwise unsafe behaviour is not permitted. Do not enter another group’s simulator bay without permission.
Follow Staff Instructions: Follow reasonable instructions from Tempo staff relating to safety, equipment and behaviour. Staff may stop play, restrict use of equipment, ask a guest to leave a bay or require a guest to leave the premises where reasonably necessary for safety, security or behaviour.
Photography: Photographing other customers or children without their permission is not permitted.
Smoking & Vaping: Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the venue.
Staff & Restricted Areas: Do not enter staff-only, restricted or operational areas unless authorised by a member of Tempo staff.
Children & Young People
Children and young people must comply with Tempo Golf Ltd’s age, consent and supervision requirements. Children may play in Bays 1 and 2 only. Please see the Safety Rules for Children Using Golf Bays for the full requirements.
Children under 5 are not permitted to play in the simulator bays. Anyone attending with a child under 5 should use a ground floor bay, and prams cannot be taken upstairs.
Children aged 5 to 17 must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult aged 18 or over, who must remain within the allocated bay area throughout play. There must be at least one responsible adult for every two children, and no more than two children in a bay. The bay must not exceed four people in total.
Young people aged 16 and 17 may use a simulator bay without an accompanying adult where written parental or guardian consent has been requested by the parent or guardian, completed in advance and is held by Tempo Golf Ltd. Independent play is limited to bookings between 7am and 7pm. Where a 16 or 17 year old plays with a friend, written consent is also required for the second young person and the bay is limited to two players. Tempo Golf Ltd may require an adult to remain present where there is a specific safety concern.
After 7pm, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over, whatever consent is held.
Children must not be dropped off or left without the supervision required under these rules.
Different supervision arrangements apply during organised junior coaching sessions, which are covered in the Rules & Safety Guidelines for Junior Coaching Sessions.
Events and Group Bookings: Only the player taking their turn may enter the green astroturf hitting area. All other players and guests must remain safely behind the player and clear of the golf club. Events may include additional guests elsewhere within the venue or the bar and cafe area, where the total number of attendees has been agreed with Tempo Golf Ltd in advance. Guests who are not playing must remain in the seating or standing areas. They must not crowd around the hitting area, obstruct walkways, enter neighbouring bays or block emergency escape routes. Tempo Golf Ltd staff may manage numbers, restrict access to bays or require people to move where necessary for safety.
Report Hazards: Tell a member of staff immediately if you notice a spill, damaged flooring, damaged furniture or equipment, loose or damaged cables, or anything else that could present a safety risk. Do not attempt to repair or move simulator equipment yourself.
First Aid and Medical Emergencies: Report any injury, illness or medical emergency to a member of staff immediately. Staff will arrange or provide appropriate first-aid assistance within their training and competence and in accordance with Tempo Golf Ltd’s first-aid arrangements. In a serious or life-threatening emergency, staff will call 999 immediately. All accidents and injuries must be reported, even where they initially appear minor.
